Portable Electronics Lab

A whole electronics bench in a 20 litre aluminium case. Lab supply, soldering iron, third hand, light and parts storage, all fed from one plug, with enough flat space left to actually work. Open the lid and start, close the lid and the project is still where you left it.

The case is a standard aluminium tool case, and everything about the build is decided by how little room is inside it. The base gives 44.5 by 31.5 cm of floor and 10 cm of depth. The lid adds another 44.5 by 32 cm, but only 4.5 cm deep. That is 20 litres in total, and it has to hold a power supply, an iron, a light, a third hand, component storage and a work surface, without the lid crushing anything when it shuts.

Most of what goes in is already on the tools page. What the build adds is a fixed place for each one, a power feed and a way of surviving being carried.
